The weight of this easel is concentrated in the base to provide exceptional stability. The support ledges are independently adjustable to accommodate a wide range of canvas or drawing board sizes (up to 68” high and 120” wide). The angle of the work is adjusted by the telescoping rear leg; a negative slope, to allow pastel and charcoal dust to fall free of paper, is also possible. The Slope Easel comes with rubber feet, but because of the weight of its solid steel base, many customers elect to add optional casters to make it more maneuverable. To reduce crating and freight charges, the Slope Easel is customarily shipped unassembled. Like the Stak Easel™, the Slope is atwo-post easel.
The Barnesville Stak Easel™ was designed for multi-use studios. Weighing only 18 pounds, it’s easy for even small students to stack to reconfigure your space
What's the big deal with two posts?
Many easels support work on only a single post. They may have three posts, but the locking unit, the principal point of support, is on the center post. Both the Barnesville Slope and Stak Easels™ are true two-post easels, providing stable support at two points
The Stak Easel™ uses a pair of clips to secure stretchers to the easel. Adjusting individually means they readily accommodate asymmetrical canvases.
The tensioning knob on the support ledge of the Slope Easel is centered, but it tightens the interior steel bar against both outside posts for maximum stability. We think this simple design choice results in the sturdiest, most dependable easels available—our two-post easels can reliably support the largest and heaviest artwork.
